Avoiding abuse in organisations
There are, in my experience, two main issues that underlie abuse: the misuse of authority and transference. Organisations have a duty of care towards those people who work for them, including those in authority. This means that they should be providing suitable training and therapeutic supervisory s...

Socialist reasons to stay in the EU
From a socialist point of view, the UK is far better off being a member of the EU, see my article here: http://dpets.co.uk/Empowerment/ukineu.html .

Be empowered, not PC, to avoid discrimination
Being "PC" does not, in general, prevent discrimination and can just reinforce it. See my article here: http://dpets.co.uk/Empowerment/notpc.html. Of course, being alert to, for example, the terminology we use can help us to be aware of tendencies to discriminate.

Re: The consequences of oppression
Gilli Gladman writes: Such wise words and so timely spoken. I have become more and more conscious in recent times that the work to be done by those of us who value real freedoms must be to enable all who we come into contact with everyday to feel and exercise their own sense of personal power. That ...

The consequences of oppression
The election of Donald Trump, the brexit vote, the situation throughout the Middle East, wars, famine, refugees, I could go on, all of these are consequences of oppression. They result from people making decisions that are not in their genuine self interests. We are subjected to relentless oppressio...

Re: The Pillars of Institutional Oppression
Gilli Gladman wrote: I hope you can spread this message far and wide to any organisation that is part of influencing our society. You have so clearly identified that the web of oppression affects our whole society. In the latest disclosures emerging from the world of Football sexual abuse like this ...

Might panocracy lead to a dystopia?
Panocracy cannot guarantee that bad things will not happen. It is also likely that those who wish to oppress others will use the language of panocracy in oppressive ways. Using the language of the oppressed to further oppress them is common practice, for example the language of feminism is used to i...

Where will we get if we all insist on our rights?
"I have the right to handle any situation in the way that I choose". In a way this is just a statement of fact, if I make my own choices there is nothing anyone can do to stop me. They can, of course, make their choices about how to respond to what I do and what they do then presents me wi...
